In today’s society, it’s easy to fall into a routine of what is considered to be the ‘norm’ or reality. We are taught to follow the grain, rather than create the life we want.
But who determines what is realistic, anyway?
Where I come from, it is typical to go to college, graduate, move back home, find a job, get married, have kids and settle down. On top of that, the average vacation time provided by employers is around 10 days.

My soul has never wanted to play by these rules. And in turn, that had led me down a path that most consider ‘against the grain.’
I, on the other hand, like to call it, Freedom.
It is important to stay true to your heart. With the proper mindset and inspired action, happiness will follow.
I started realizing that my corporate sales job was no longer serving me after meeting a woman who is a clairvoyant, coach and psychic. We crossed paths at a Reiki training class, where I actually unintentionally ended up at. For those who don’t know, Reiki is a healing technique. It’s based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch. This will activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
A week after the training, we got on the phone and she tuned into my Eura.
As she was asking me about myself, I couldn’t stop crying. I had so much anxiety built up inside my body and I had no idea why. She said to me, “I feel like you’re living your life with your head and not your heart.”
In turn, I resisted and said: “No, I love my life, I love my job.”
She responded, “I feel like you’re doing this job because you think it’s going to make you a lot of money. I want you to go and be creative.”
This is when I had a pivotal AH-HA moment.
But I didn’t know where to start or how this was possible. But, there are a ton of people out there living this life, so I knew it was achievable.
The story goes on and on, but since that conversation, I realized I was out of alignment with my purpose. It was easy for me to see I was succumbing to society’s norm.
I finally took action after returning from my first trip to South East Asia. While there I had attended a Yoga Retreat called YES TO BALI, hosted by my Modo Yoga Instructor, Amanda Such. I felt pulled to quit my job and spend more time in SE Asia. I googled “learn to build a business online” and found this 10-day intensive boot camp in Canggu, Bali.
Canggu is a place that can be considered the home of the Digital Nomad. As opposed to home in New York, where most may not even know what this term means.
Canggu is filled with numerous coworking spaces. There are entrepreneurs with thriving online businesses! There are meet-ups and networking events being arranged in order to connect and collaborate with one another. It’s really inspiring to see that this community all gravitated together and resisted the corporate world or a route that didn’t suit their lifestyle.
Live your truth and get in touch with your passion. Success and happiness will follow as soon as you are authentic and honest with yourself.
There are so many ways to hone in on your strengths OUTSIDE of a corporate job in an office. The key is to get REALLY CLEAR on what you want in life.
What kind of environment do you want to be in?
Who do you want to surround yourself with and what are your passions? What really drives you?
It is all possible! Just believe, take inspired action and the rest will follow.
